Welcome to the Third grade technology class! During the year, students will learn typing skills as well as word processing and presentation skills. They will be introduced to Google Apps and Microsoft Office programs to create assignments and presentations. They will learn what it is to be a digital citizen in this technological world. Third graders will be practice computer programming as well.
First Nine Weeks (August – October)
Third graders will review technology vocabulary. They will begin to focus on typing homerow keys.
Second Nine Weeks (October – December)
Students will continue to develop their typing skills. They will be introduced to computer programming and word processing apps (such as Google Docs and MS Word).
Third Nine Weeks (January – March)
Third graders will continue to focus on their homerow proficiency. They will be introduced to Digital Citizenship as well as Digital Safety.
Fourth Nine Weeks (March – May)
Students will continue working on computer programming. They will also complete assignments in Google Docs/MS Word, Google Slides/MS Powerpoint, and practice online research skills.
